Troop Job Descriptions
- Chartered Organization
Representative- Peggy Garrett
- Is a member of the
charted organization
- Serves as head of
“Scouting department” in the organization
- Maintains a close
liaison with the Troop Committee Chair
- Helps recruit other
adult leaders
- Serves as liaison
between troop and our organization
- Encourages
service to the organization
- Should have a back ground
in Scouting
- Troop
Committee Chair- Craig Ross
- Should have a strong Scouting
background.
- Organize the committee
to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated, and completed
- Maintains a close
relationship with the charted organization representative and the
Scoutmaster
- Interpret national and
local policies to the Troop
- Prepares Troop
committee meeting agendas
- Calls, preside over,
and promote attendance at monthly Troop committee meetings and any
special meetings that may be called
- Ensure Troop representation
at monthly roundtables.
- Scoutmaster
- Thom Batchelder
- Has a strong background in Scouting
- Has completed
Scoutmaster fundamentals and all related training.
- Has the current Youth
Protection Training
- Within four years
complete Wood Badge Training, preferred not required.
- Qualified to teach all
the required Eagle Merit badges.
- Be willing to attend
at least 90% of the Troop functions
- Must be committed to
the ideals of Scouting, live the Scout Law and oath.
- In-charge of the day
to day functioning of the Troop
- Be of high moral standards
- Attention to detail
- Ability to relate to
boys
- Ability to keep a
“cool head” under pressure
- Wear the correct and
complete uniform at all Troop functions.
- Make it possible that
Scouts get at least 10 nights and day camping a year.
- Will lead by example.
- Train the boy leaders
to lead.
- Has a background in
Scouting.
- Has completed
Scoutmaster fundamentals, and all related training.
- Has the current Youth
Protection Training.

money-earning projects, including obtaining proper authorization
- Supervise the camp
saving plan.

Advancement Coordinator- Barbara Rowell

Encourage Scouts to advance in rank

Work with the Troop scribe to maintain all Scout advancement records.

Arrange Troop boards of review

o Develop and maintain a merit
badge counselor list.
o Work with the troop
librarian to build and maintain a troop library of merit badge pamphlets and
other advancement literature.

Provide a spiritual tone for Troop meetings and activities.

Give guidance to the chaplain aide.

Promote regular participation of each member in the activities of the
religious organization of his choice.

Give spiritual counseling service when needed or requested.
o Encourage Boy Scouts to earn
their appropriate religious emblems.
- Transportation
Coordinator- Joi Austin
- Ensure the each on
each outing there is enough transportation for the entire Troop in
accordance to BSA standards.
- Ensure the on each
outing there is the correct Tour Permit on file with the Council office.
- Will maintain a
running list of adults that can drive Scouts to events.
- Equipment
Coordinator- Jergen Poppelreuter
- Supervise and help the
Troop procure camping equipment.
- Work with the
Quartermaster on inventory and proper storage and maintenance of all
troop equipment.
- Make periodic safety
checks on all outdoor equipment.
- Will give reports from
time to time on the status of Troop equipment.
- Eagle
Coordinator
- Assist the Life Scouts
with their project.
- Keep records of where
each candidate is in relationship to completing the requirements.
- Act as an advisor, NOT
leader to the candidate.
- Keep a list of
possible projects.
- Work with our sponsor
for possible projects.
